Grace Under Pressure Youth Ministry

Charles Spurgeon, the great Baptist preacher, said it this way: "Remember this; or you may fall into error by fixing your minds so much upon the faith which is the channel of salvation as to forget the grace which is the fountain and source even of faith itself. Faith is the work of God's grace in us. No man comes to Me" says Jesus, "except the Father who sent Me draws him. . .Grace is the first and last moving cause of salvation; and faith, essential as it is, is only an important part of the machinery which grace employs. We are saved "through faith," but salvation is 'by grace'."

God's grace gives us strength to live for Him
2Tim. 2: 1 “You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”
Hebrews 13:5 “…it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace…”

God's grace is a position in which we stand in.
Romans 5: 1-2 “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in the hope of the glory of God.”

God's grace is the reason for our salvation
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God.”

God's grace is the basis of our righteousness
Titus 3:7 So that being Justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

Gods grace flows from His Word
Acts 20: 32 “And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are being sanctified.”

God's grace grows and matures us
2 Peter 3: 18a “But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…”

God's grace should be sought after in time of need
Heb 4:16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace in time of need

God's grace is reserved for the humble only
James 4:6 But He gives greater grace. Therefore it says, God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

About Us

As the youth group of Grace Baptist church, we seek to foster an environment where the youth of our church will be aware of the world in which they live, and what God expects of them in that world. We seek to introduce the youth multiple times a week to the Word of God so they will be ready to face the world and make an impact for Christ. The youth group is comprised of youth from ages 12-18 and from grades 7 through 12. We currently have four youth Sunday School teachers and 10 Wednesday night helpers.

We have four Sunday School classes divided between boys and girls and then by Junior and Senior High. We collectively meet two times a week - Wednesday and Sunday. On Wednesdays we worship through singing, prayer and preaching. We are currently going through the gospel of Mark, verse by verse. After the message, we break into groups for further discussion. On Sundays we meet during Discipleship Training and study such things as: biblical or ethical topics and themes, doctrinal studies, or passages of Scripture.

We want to provide our youth with opportunities for ministry within our church as well as outside our church. We want them to discover their spiritual gifts and look for places where they can put them into practice. The youth are a vital part of our body and we want them to get involved in the mission of our church.
